The Pottery Route in Middelfart is an urban route that combines the experience of ceramic art with sea carving, maritime history and urban life. Join us for an inspiring waterfront adventure tour through the Old Town and experience street art that surprises and excites the senses.
Together with your local guide, you will have a walking tour of the old market town, known today for both its ceramics museum and its maritime heritage.
Among other things, you will see the 2.3 meter high Isaac Vase by Peter Brandes and Ingrid Askeland's Dilerium in the shape of a bottle with a cartoonish and creepy bird creature in the park of the Clay Museum. At Nytorv you will experience Betty Engholm's Livsnyderne looking out over the water. Along the way we talk about the symbolism and the different techniques behind the works.
The route takes us along forest paths, stairs and cobblestones and is not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The tour lasts about 90 minutes and can start at Clay or at Middelfart Town Hall if desired, and can of course be combined with a visit to the Clay Pottery Museum.

Middlefare
In Middelfart we put the senses and the near first. We cultivate the slow and the what only exists here. Perhaps that's why a trip to the middle of the country often ends up taking you a little closer to yourself.
Welcome back to the middle.
